Stage

A challenging stage but one that leads us to climb two typical climbs of the Tour of Italy. The departure from Biella and immediately uphill towards the sanctuary of Oropa located 1,159 above sea level, the scene of epic battles in the tour of Italy. From the Sanctuary, standing at high altitude on a path that is unpaved in some points, you go down to Andrate. The track takes us across the plains to the Orco valley in the Canavese area. The road passing through Courgnè in constant ascent takes us to 1062 meters above sea level of Noasca. The climb begins that will take us first to CeresoleReale, the stage site and then continue to the Nivolet hills. Leaving Noasca, avoid the tunnel, the small deviation to the right takes us to the old road, very panoramic and with a refurbished road surface, up to the village of Ceresole Reale, the control is placed at the end of the lake

Places

From Biella to the Sanctuary of Oropa, sources speak of its foundation in the 4th century, the road continues on the provincial road called the trecciolino, the provincial road connecting the sanctuary to Andrate. Reaching the Orco valley, carved by the river of the same name, it connects the Canavese with Ceresole Reale and the Nivolet hill within the park of the great paradise. Ceresole Reale, a small town with very few inhabitants, but a nerve center for tourists in the center of the Gran Paradiso Park
