A Grand Tour around the ALPS and northern Italy.
SEE YOU on 27th June 2022! SAVE THE DATE
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and considering the postponement of other major randonneè brevets, the Alpi 4000 will be held on the 27th of June 2022.
More details regarding the second edition of this wonderful event will be published in Q1 2021. The first edition was incredibly successful and received positive feedback above any expectation.
The organising team, including well known and active members of AUDAX Italia such as Mario Zangrando, Enrico Peretti and Jimmi Vignati, is working to make the Brevet even more attractive and attended.
ALPI 4000 goes around Alps' over 4000 high peaks (Mont Blanc, Gran Paradiso, Cervino, Pizzo Bernina), leading to the best valleys and the highest passes. You will pass by Italian big lakes (Maggiore lake, Como lake and Garda lake) and cross the Padanian Plane following the longest Italian river Po. You will pass through important historical and artistic cities like Pavia, Cremona, Mantova and Torino, capital of the Alps and home of the Savoia dinasty, where you will stop at the "Venaria" Royal Palace.
The track, recalling some parts of Tour Blanc Rando and Valtellina Extreme Rando (two of the most famous and important ranndonnée trails around the Alps), crosses 3 countries and fascinates with wonderful landscapes and views.
A real challenge: 9 passes including the 2 highest ones of the Alps: Col d’ Iseran (2770 m) and Passo dello Stelvio (2757m), both reminding of famous challenges from Tour de France and Giro d’Italia.
